I am officially casting my vote for more genetic research into gender selection. As distasteful as the movie Gattica seemed, there is much wisdom in the even distribution of X and Y chromosomes. The XX chromosomal combination tends to lend itself to more emotional trauma, requiring potential therapy and more massive bills in later life, but as all my children are under the age of eight the massive medical bills NOW are what are concerning me. For some reason the combination of the X and the Y end is a chaotic collision that results in children with no sense of self preservation. Not too long ago, Cedrich, in an attempt to prove his superiority to Spiderman, stretched a rake between to chairs and performed a stunning high wire act with only limited success. Half way through the act, his foot missed the rake, forcing him to straddle the wooden handle and slam his head through the wall like the dry wall was actually hot butter.
This being the situation, I should have foreseen the catastrophic events that result from allowing my two-year old and my six-year old to finish their bath together while diapered the youngest Wilson. Apparently, the two inches of water in the bathtub were uncontrollably attractive for cannonballs and though Cedrich made it through the brief event unscathed, Liam slipped on his ascent and smacked his brow on the side of the tub on the descent. The result is a rather attractive black eye and a relatively small cut for the profuse amounts of blood involved.
So, in other words: although little boys think that they are superheroes, the spiders in our house are not radioactive and do not impart any special grace or poise. We recorded the event for posterity. Ta dah! Super Liam strikes again.

Your poor boys. Maybe I should say, poor you!!! The testosterone in your house will be unbearable in the years to come, even with both you and Aislinn to bear it. I love to read your stories of the antics in the Wilson home. Keep them coming!!!
Yes, do keep the stories coming! I want to hear more about the family!
